How to Reach
Nearest Airport: Tezpur Airport (Assam), followed by a road journey to Tawang.
By Road: Route from Tezpur → Bomdila → Tawang via NH13 (Trans-Arunachal Highway). From Tawang, the trek to Gorichen Base Camp begins.
Trekking Access: The trek to Gorichen Base Camp typically starts from Tawang, covering rugged terrain over several days. Due to high altitude and difficult terrain, hiring experienced guides and porters is essential.
Best Time to Visit
April to June and September to October – These months offer the most stable weather conditions for trekking and mountaineering, with clearer skies and reduced risk of heavy snowfall.
Winter months (November to March) are harsh with heavy snowfall and are generally unsuitable for expeditions.
