About Sadashivgad Fort
Sadashivgad Fort is a popular tourist destination located in Karawar, Karnataka. Its a small fort with dimensions of 60 metres by 20 metres on top of a hillock east of Sadashivgad.
During the course of history, the fort came under many rulers, including Marathas, Portuguese, and English. Due to its strategic position, the fort has played an important role in protecting the region from naval attack and helping in flourishing trade.
Architecture of Sadashivgad Fort
On the northern bank of the Kali River, the old fortified site has 8-meter-high ramparts with towers and openings for guns at the top. In a runied state, the fort still has reservoirs, granaries, and bastions that show remarkable brilliance of the bygone era. There is a citadel that is the highest point on the fort and has an arched gateway for entrance.
A outwork on the west near the base of the cliff is called Pani Killar, while there is another outwork on the eastern slope.
Best time
The best time to visit the fort is during the winter months between October and March, when the weather is pleasant.
How To Reach Sadashivgad Fort
The major town of Karawar is well connected to major cities like Bangalore and Mumbai. Kadamba Transport Corporation and KSRTC regularly fly buses on these routes.

Closet railway stations are located at Karwar and Asnoti.
Timing
Sadashivgad Hill Fort is open to the public from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on all seven days.
