One of the popular waterfalls in Maharashtra, Lingmala Waterfall, is a mesmerising waterfall that is located at the top of the Venna Valley in the Satara district of Maharashtra. Nestled among the captivating landscapes of Mahabaleshwar, the renowned hill station offers beauty and a unique experience to visitors. It’s situated just 6 kilometres from the Mahabaleshwar bus stand.
Two Levels of Waterfalls
Lingmala waterfall is fed by the Venna river and is situated at an altitude of 1278 meters.It’s divided into two sections: a mini waterfall and the main waterfall.
Main waterfall fall from a height of 500 feet and is ideal for photography and scenic views.
Mini waterfall are small cascades that are good for picnics and closer explorations.
How to reach Lingmala waterfall
To reach Lingmala waterfall, you can take the right-hand road while travelling from Mahabaleshwar to Panchgani. A signboard guides the way. Following the directions, a left turn leads to the entrance. From there, it’s 1.5 km to the mini waterfall and 2.5 km to the main waterfall.
For those travelling from Pune, it’s approximately 116 km away, while Mumbai dwellers will find it at a distance of 252 km.
The best time to explore
The best time to visit Lingmala waterfall is during the months of July to October, when the monsoon is at its peak. After the post-monsoon season (October to December), the region is lush with greenery.
