History and Mythology of Dhari Devi Temple

An interesting story is associated with the Dhari Devi temple. In the past  , flash floods occurred in the region. The amount of water was so large that Devi’s idol also washed away, but fortunately it got stuck in between the rocks near the village of Dharo.

When the villagers came to rescue the idol, they heard a divine voice. Diety guided them to install an idol at the spot where the villagers found it.

However, some people in the village have different thoughts about it. They wanted to install the idol in the precincts of a temple. But one of the devotees who got the dream of a deity got the message from the deity that they should remain the idol at the place where it was found.
