Water pollution problems

Anasagar lake is  breathing heavily under the water pollution problem. Sewage water from the city flows unchecked into the lake, causing water hyacinth. Its exotic shrubs grow at a rapid pace on the surface of water, which causes clogging, sedimentation, and deoxygenation, resulting in a reduction in water quality  . Due to all this, Anasagar Lake has lost its old shine when a number of migratory birds visit the lake in a migratory season. The whole biodiversity and ecosystem of the water body are under threat.

A number of efforts are being taken by the local administration, but they have failed to bring noticeable results.
