How to Reach Neermahal Palace
Reaching Neermahal is convenient, as it is located about 53 km from Agartala and 2 km from Melaghar town:
By Air: The nearest airport is Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport (Agartala Airport), located about 60 km away. Regular flights connect Agartala with Kolkata, Guwahati, and Delhi. From the airport, one can hire taxis or use app-based cabs to reach Melaghar and then take a boat to the palace.
By Train: The closest railway station is Agartala Railway Station, around 55 km away. Trains from Guwahati, Silchar, and Sealdah connect the city to other parts of India. From the station, taxis and buses are available to reach Melaghar.
By Road: Neermahal is well connected by road from Agartala via the NH-8 highway. Buses, shared jeeps, and private taxis regularly ply between Agartala and Melaghar. The palace can be reached only by boat ride across Rudrasagar Lake, which adds to its unique charm.
Local Transport: Within Melaghar town, auto-rickshaws, e-rickshaws, and cycle rickshaws are commonly available. The boat ghat is just a short ride from the town center.
