About Bilikal Rangaswamy Betta
A haven for trekking enthusiasts, Bilikal Rangaswamy Betta is a beautiful hill that is located just 75 km from Banglore city. Situated at an altitude of 3780 feet, the hills near Kanakapura offer not only a thrilling ascent but also panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
Trekking Trail from Konala Doddi
It’s a moderate trek that starts from Konala Doodi, covering 2.5 hours uphill and 1.5 hours downhill.
The trail offers glimpses of shrub-filled landscapes and dense forest in the eastern ghat. During the trek, sightseeing with elephants and other animals adds a touch of wildlife adventure. On reaching the top, you see breathtaking vistas of Kanakapura range, including BM Betta, Kabbala Durga, and Savanadurga.
Temple Atop the White Rocks
Under a massive white rock, there is a temple dedicated to Rangaswamy that makes the trek to Rangaswamy Betta a blend of adventure and spirituality.
Many pilgrims visit the Rangaswamy temple during an annual festival that is held at the temple.
Best Time to Visit Bilikal Rangaswamy Betta
The best time to visit the trek is during the post-monsoon season from August to January, when the weather is not that hot.
Travel Tips
Beyond Konala Doddi, there are no shops available, so it’s good to carry sufficient food and water with you.
Transportation: Reach Harohalli via KSRTC or private buses from KR Market, and further to Dodda Maralawadi. Limited transportation options are available to Konala Doddi, so private vehicles or autos are recommended.
Alternate Route
If you don’t want to trek to the peak, then there is the option of a Jeep track . It starts from Kanakapura to the peak and offers a rewarding journey.
