About Freedom Park
Inaugurated in 2008, Freedom Park is a beautiful park located in the city of Banglore.The park has a campus that was a former jail during the emergency period . Between 1977 and 1979, leaders Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Lk Advani were jailed at this venue.
Symbols of Protest and Activism
The Freedom Park, embodying the spirit of democratic expression, is a venue for protests, meetings, and rallies.It played a pivotal role during the India Against Corruption (IAC) movement, supporting Anna Hazare’s call for the enactment of the LokPal bill.
Design Inspired by Legacy Parks
Drawing inspiration from London parks such as Hyde and Kensington Park, Freedom Park is spread over an area of 21 acres. Offering more than greenery, the urban oasis is a living canvas for civic engagement.
Jail Museum
Adding an historical layer to the park, Freedom Park features a jail museum. The museum within the former jail premises offers a glimpse into life within prison walls.

Timing
Freedom Park is open to visitors from 5 AM to 8:30 AM and again from 4 PM to 8 p.m. It accommodates early and evening visits.
