About Kote Beta Peak
Renowned for its trekking adventures, Kota Betta Peak is a captivating mountain that is nestled between Somwarpet and Madikeri. A prominent landmark in the region, “Kotta Betta” translates to Fort Hill due to its resemblance to a fort.
According to local beliefs, Kote Beta was the place where the Pandava brothers spent a considerable period of their exile.
Trekking Route in Kote Betta Peak
At an elevation of 5.400 feet, Kota Betta is the third highest peak in Corg after Brahmagiri and Tadiandamol. Once you reach the top of the peak, you get a promising panoramic view of the surrounding hills and valleys.
Kotte Betta offers diverse trails for adventure enthusiasts. The trek to Kotte Beta is a good option to consider. Starting from Hattihole Bridge, it covers a distance of 10 km. It passes through diverse terrains, dense jungles, and open planes, creating a captivating journey
Once you reach the top, there is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Situated on flat ground with ample shade , the temple provides a perfect spot to read after you cover the trek.

Timings: The trek to Kote Betta is recommended between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., allowing trekkers to make the most of daylight hours.
