Legend has it that Maharaja Veerabahu of the Tuluva region inadvertently struck a cow with an arrow, leading to remorse and the quest for redemption. To absolve himself of the sin, the king installed a sacred Shivlinga, revered today as Sharabeshwara. Additionally, the divine manifestation of Sri Dhashabhuja Mahaganapathy on the temple’s southern wall further enriches its spiritual tapestry.
