Peermade, also spelled Peerumedu, is a charming hill station located in the Idukki district of Kerala, nestled in the lap of the Western Ghats. Perched at an altitude of about 915 meters (3,000 feet) above sea level, Peermade is known for its misty hills, sprawling plantations, and tranquil ambiance.
The name is believed to have originated from Peer Mohammad, a Sufi saint who lived here, blending the region’s natural beauty with cultural and spiritual history.
