About Kappad Beach
Kappad Beach, located about 16 kilometers from Kozhikode (Calicut) in Kerala, is one of the most historically significant beaches in India. Known locally as Kappakadavu, it holds a special place in history as the site where Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama landed in 1498, opening the gateway for European trade with India.
Beyond its historic legacy, the beach is also admired for its serene natural beauty, golden sands, and tranquil atmosphere, making it a blend of heritage and leisure.
