Nestled in the rugged terrains of the Eastern Ghats, Duduma Waterfalls in Koraput district of Odisha is one of the highest and most spectacular waterfalls in eastern India. Local legends associate the waterfall with divine origins, and the nearby Machkund Temple is revered by pilgrims. The Machkund Hydro-Electric Project, one of the oldest hydroelectric projects in India, was built here, symbolizing the blend of natural beauty and human innovation.

The ideal time to visit Duduma Waterfalls is between October and February, when the weather is pleasant and the waterfall maintains a steady flow. During the monsoon months (July–September), the falls are at their most majestic, though accessibility can be challenging due to heavy rainfall and slippery paths.
How to Reach Duduma Waterfalls
By Air: The nearest airport is Visakhapatnam Airport (200 km), well connected to major Indian cities. From there, taxis and buses are available to Koraput.
By Rail: The nearest railway station is Koraput Railway Station (70 km), which has trains from Bhubaneswar, Visakhapatnam, and other regional towns.
By Road: Duduma is well connected by road. Regular buses and private vehicles run from Jeypore (60 km), Koraput (70 km), and Sunabeda to the falls. The drive offers scenic views of the Eastern Ghats.
