One of the highest in the region, Hatu Peak stands proudly at an elevation of 3400 meters above sea level. The mountain peak is located just 7 km from Narkanda Bus Station.

Hatu Peak is a magnet for skiing enthusiasts in the winter months when it is covered with a blend of snow. At the top, visitors get an enchanting view of the surrounding landscape, which is covered with a variety of trees like cedar, fir, deodar, and blue pine.
Historically, Hatu Peak witnessed the conflict between rulers of different hill states. Serving as a strategic location dating back to the 19th century, Gorkhas initially occupied the peak but was later overtaken by the British.

Hatu temple
Hatu Temple, a religiously significant site, is situated at the crown of Hatu Peak. The temple is dedicated to Mandodari, King Ravana’s wife. The place is also connected to the Pandava brothers, who used the surrounding areas of the temple during their exile.
Hatu temple is situated on a Hatu peak that can be reached through two options. You can either hire a taxi or opt for a 7-kilometre trekking trail from Narkanda, enjoying the serene surroundings.
