About Lakshmi Naryan Temple
Lakshmi Naryan Temple is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to the god Lakshmi Naryan. It’s a part of the Sumari temple complex in Pauri Garhwal.
At an elevation of 5000 feet above sea level, it is situated northeast of Srinagar, which is at a distance of 124 km from Rishikesh. The temple is situated in a Sumari village. From Srinagar, you have to travel 20 km to a village named Sumari, then walk to the temple site.
History and Architecture
Built under the patronage of the Ramanuj sect, the temple belongs to the Vaishnav. Apart from the main idol of Laksman Narayan, locals worship the local deities Nagarasin Devi and Gaura Devi, which are kept at the entrance of the village.
When the original priests came to spread the Vaishnav culture in the region, they noticed many cultures that were always prevalent in the region. After thinking about the sentiments of the locals, he established Naryan idols with Shiva idols and local idols of the region. Although the main temple is Lakshmi Narayan Temple, which is part of the Samurai temple complex of Pauri – Garhwal.

- By Train: The nearest railway station is Kotdwar, which is around 80 km away.
- By Road: The temple is well-connected by road, and visitors can take buses or taxis from Pauri or Kotdwar to reach Sumari.
