The Taveli Mahal is a historic structure that is situated in the center of Mandu and has a tranquil lake view.
It was built to serve as a stable and a guardhouse during the Mughal era. In Hindi, the word “Tavela” means stable. It was built to be the soldiers’ guardhouse and stable for horses. The guards’ living quarters were on the top floor, while the houses were located on the ground floor. Despite being built as a utilitarian structure, this impressive structure has stood the test of time.
Thanks to the nation’s archaeological survey, India has now been transformed into a museum that holds a sizeable collection of antiquity.
The museum houses various artifacts, including sculptures from the 11th and 12th centuries and stone slabs with Persian inscriptions in Naskh script dating back to the 15th century.
