About Kadra Dam
One of the popular tourist attractions in Karwar is Kadra Dam, which was primarily built for the construction of hydroelectric projects. It was constructed in 1997 across the Kali river with the Tapi and Tadri river basins.
With a height of 40.5 m and a length of 2313 m, the dam has an installed capacity of 150 MW Annually, it produce 570 MU. The dam is operated by KPCL and is also the part of Kaiga nuclear power project.
During the monsoon season from June to September, the dam receives heavy rainfall of up to approximately 4600 m . The power generation capacity of the dam is highest during this time.
Attraction around the dam
The Vedic garden around the dam is quite an attraction with a beautiful design of stars and planets. A beautiful rose garden is sure not to be missed.
Mahamayi Temple
An ancient and popular temple, Mahamayi Temple is another popular attraction for pilgrimage from nearby villages.
