Maa ki Bagiya is a sacred garden that is located in the surrounding forest of the Narmada River. Dedicated to the Goddess Narmada, Maa Ki Bagiya is home to various trees such as mango and banana, as well as beautiful flowering plants like Gulbakavli and roses. There is a small pond which is dedicated to the goddess Narmada called Charanodak Kund, believed to be the origin of the Narmada River.
Mythology
According to the mythology, When the Narmada river was a child, she used to play with her friend Gulbakavli at this very spot. She picked flowers from the garden for her worship. The place has become a famous tourist attraction that is part of the Narmada parikrama where many pilgrims rest to spend a night at the temple.
Besides the spiritual significance, the Maa ki Bagiya is famous for its medicinal herbs and plants. On the banks of the holy Charanotdak kund, there are a variety of medicinal herbs, and Gulabkavali plants are found. It’s an important medicinal that is used to prepare Ayurvedic eye drops.

The nearest railway station to Amarkantak is Pendra Road, which is about 17 km away. Trains from major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai stop at Pendra Road. From the railway station, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Amarkantak.
