About Chaparai Waterfalls

Araku waterfalls, also known as Chaparai waterfalls or Dumbriguda Falls, are one such attraction that is situated near Chaparai village and approximately 13 km from Araku Valley town in the Eastern Ghats. In the midst of dense forest, the waterfall creates a serene ambiance to spend a day out. It’s an ideal spot for a picnic and photography.
How to Trek
A road from Padmapuram Gardens goes to Ranajilleda village, which is the last village up to which the road is motorable. After this, it takes less than half an hour to reach the waterfall.
Best Time to Visit
October to February is the ideal time, as the weather is pleasant and the water flow is moderate.
Monsoon months (June–September) are also beautiful but can make the rocks slippery and dangerous.

Open throughout the day, but visiting during daylight hours is recommended for safety and better visibility.

By Road: The falls are about 13 km from Araku Valley town and can be reached by private vehicle, autorickshaw, or local transport.
By Train: Araku Valley is connected to Visakhapatnam by scenic trains like the Vizag-Araku rail route. From Araku, hire a cab to reach the falls.
By Air: The nearest airport is Visakhapatnam Airport, about 120 km away.
