About Indira Gandi Zoological Park
One of the largest and most scenic zoos in India, Indira Gandi Zoological Park is spread over an area of 625 acres. Located in Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, it is situated in the Kambalakonda reserve forest in the lush greenery of the Eastern Ghats. Its a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers.
The zoo was established in 1977 and was named after Indira Gandhi, the former Prime Minister of India. Its home to over 800 animals from 100+ species, including mammals, birds, and reptiles. The park is a centre for conservation education and recreation, attracting families, students, and researchers.

The ideal time is from October to March, when the weather is pleasant.

The entry fee of the zoo is 70 rupees per person. Camera charge is 50 rupees.
