Overview

One of the top places to visit in Chittorgarh, Ratan Singh Palace is a magnificent historical palace that is located within the Chittorgarh fort in Rajasthan. The splendid architectural marvel, along with the Ratneshwar Talab, is a magnificent historical palace. 

History and Architecture of Ratan Singh Palace

The palace was constructed during the reign of Ratan Singh II, from 1528 to 1531 AD. The overall structure is designed in a rectangular layout and has an entrance from the east. Enclosed by a high wall, a lofty arch is crowned with two pillared chhatris at the entrance.

As you walk through the courtyard, numerous rooms give you the opulence and grand celebrations of a bygone era. On the east part of the second storey, known as a Darikhana, there is a pavilion that offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding area. Ratneshwar Talab looks beautiful from standing on the balcony, witnessing the glory of the palace in its time. 

Ratneshwara Temple is located on the north side of the main gateway. It’s a place of worship that comprises a Garbhagriha (inner sanctum), an antarala (vestibule), and a mandapa (hall). Showcasing the remarkable craftsmanship of that era, the exterior of the temple is intricately carved.

Take a leisurely stroll in a well-maintained garden within the palace compound that adds a touch of tranquility and natural beauty to the surroundings. The garden offers a perfect spot to relax and rejuvenate.

Timings and Entry Fee

Ratan Singh Palace welcomes visitors from 9.45 a.m. to 6 p.m., allowing ample time to explore its architectural splendors. As the palace is situated inside the fort complex, there is no separate entry fee. Instead, visitors can avail themselves of the Chittorgarh Fort Entry Fee, which is Rs. 15 for Indian nationals and Rs. 200 for foreigners.
