Khalinga war memorial

A war memorial was erected for the sacrifice of Gorkha soldiers against the British in the Battle of Nalapani. The battle took place in 1814 to capture the Nalapani fort and was the first battle of the Anglo-Nepalese War.
Khalinga War Memorial, constructed by Britishers to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the Battle of Nalapani, or St. Francis Church to light a candle.
History of Maldevta
Maldevta has great importance in the history of the Garhwal Kingdom. The roads that go to Dehradun pass through the Maldevta. Its strategic location around Dehradun.
To safeguard their interests, Maldevta Fort was constructed by the Garhwal’s king and established as a significant military post.
Apart from military importance, many great Indian sage Guru Nanak Devi ji had visited the region and did meditation at Maldevta. He was the founder of Sikhism.
Jaitak fort

Situated at a height of 1479 metres above sea level. Jaitak is a famous fort located 15 km from Nahan. It was built in 1810 by Amar Singh Singh’s son , Ranjor Singh Thapa, after he ransacking and destroyed the Nahan fort.
Jaitak fort was the evidence of fight between Gurkhas and British. Amar singh Thapa, who led the Gurkhas, inflicted a heavy defeat to the Brtitish and Sirmaur Joint army
