Burzil Pass is a mountain pass located in northern Pakistan at a height of 4100 m. During British times, it was a trade route connecting the cities of Gilgit and Srinagar. There is a road going from Srinagar, passing through the northern banks of Wular Lake, the Plains of Bandipore, and the beautiful Gurez valley, and finally leaving India at Minimarg and entering the Pakistan-administrated territories of Gilgit-Baltistan. Burzil Pass lies ahead at a distance of 30 kilometres from the Line of Control and goes to Gilgit, which lies at a distance of 179 kilometres from the pass.
Burzil Pass is also the origin of the Astore River that originates from the western slopes of the pass. Flowing in a valley and draining the Deoplateau, it meets indus before Gilgit.
