About Grahan Village
Grahan, a beautiful hamlet of 50 houses, is famous among trekkers as a base for the Sar Pass trek. At a height of 7,700 feet above sea level, it is at a 6.4-kilometer trekable distance from Kasol. The trails takes around 4-5 hours in general to cover.
Situated in the Kanawar Wildlife Sanctuary, the journey to Garahan offers stunning views of lush greenery and wildlife. Yes you heard it right, The area is home to wildlife animals like Barking Deer, Serow, Leopard, and Himalayan Palm Civet. But don’t worry; the chances of encountering them are minimal.
How to Reach Grahan Village
To reach Grahan, you have to first come to Kasol, that is accessible through buses, taxis, cabs, or private vehicles.From here, the village is accessible only by foot.
Ideal months
Garahan is best enjoyed during the months of May, June, September, and November. During these months, the lush green side comes out with great colors.
