History of Mandore Garden

As you enter Mandore Garden, Cenotaphs stand tall at four stories high in the style of Hindu temples. Intricate columns and an elegant spire are constructed using red sandstone. They are traditional cenotaphs of former rulers of Jodhpur. The most prominent attraction in Mandore Garden is the cenotaph of Maharaja Arjit Singh, built-in 1793. 

Offering a glimpse into the folklore and legends of the region, you will discover the Hall of Heroes statues, a space reserved for folk heroes of the past. Embellished with vibrant colors, these awe-inspiring statues are carved out of rocks. 

A significant spiritual and magnificent site known as “The Shrine of Three Hundred Million” will come across you as you step further into Mandore Garden. It represents the 30 crore Hindu gods and Goddesses. Religious diversity is intricately showcased through beautifully designed shrines for visitors. 

The Government Museum

Mandore Garden houses a government museum that has an impressive collection of artifacts from the bygone area. Artistic and cultural traditions are displayed through sculptures, captivating artifacts, ornate textiles, ancient sculptures, and others.  The museum offers a glimpse into the rich culture and history of Jodhpur 

Old Palace and Mandore Fort Ruins

Mandore Garden leads to the old remnants or ruins of the Mandore Fort. For those seeking a sense of adventure, a short climb up nearby hills waits. The architectural marvels that once adorned the landscape speak about the glorious past of the region. 

Ravan Temple

Another notable feature in the Mandore garden is a Ravan temple. The distinctive architectural style of the temple attracts devotees and curious visitors alike. Ravana is a mythical character from the Hindu epic Ramayana.

Timing and fees

The temple is open to visitors from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The government museum in the Mandore Garden is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., except Friday. Friday A Nominal fee of Rs. 50 is applicable to visitors visiting the museum.
