Sulthan Battery, a watchtower, is a hidden gem located on the banks of the Gurpur River. Built in 1784, the watchtower situated at Boloor offers panoramic vistas of the Gurpur River and Arabian Sea.
A Tower of Vigilance: Purpose and Design
The ruler of the kingdom of mysore, Tipu Sulthan, wanted to monitor maritime activities along the Gurpur River, so he built this watchtower. It was designed for strategic placement for deploying cannon that kept stronghold defensive capabilities.

Restoration and Preservation
In recent years, Sulthan Battery underwent a meticulous restoration under the auspices of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
