About Devakar waterfall
Falling from a height of 300 feet , Devakar waterfall, or Varjramala Falls, is a beautiful waterfall located on a small island called in the Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka. It glows like a diamond when it falls; that’s how its name Vajra means diamond. Surrounded by Kadra dam backwaters, the waterfall originates from the Bare stream.
Not quite as popular as other waterfalls in the region, the waterfall is a hidden gem. It reaches its full zenith during the rainy season, when the flow of water in the waterfall is at its peak. So the best time to visit Devkar Falls is post-monsoons from the months from November to February.
How to Reach
The nearest point to the waterfall is Devakar village. You have to board a bus from Kadra to Devkar Bus Stop and then cross back the water of Kadra Dam by boat. After the village, the trek to Devkar Falls starts that passes through thick forest cover.
