History of Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary
Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary is a captivating destination for natural enthusiasts and is situated in the lush green environment of the Aravali ranges in Kelwara tehsil of Rajsamand district, Rajasthan. Declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1971, it covers an expansive area of 578 square kilometers surrounding the magnificent Kumbhalgarh fort. Flora and Fauna
An ideal spot to witness the beauty and majesty of creatures, Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary is home to a diverse range of wildlife Species. Nilgai, jungle cat, chinkara, sambhar, sloth bear, wild boar, leopards, hare, etc. are among the rich flora of the sanctuary. In the Joba area of the sanctuary, over forty wolves can be found. The successful wolf breeding program makes it the only sanctuary in which such breeding has been achieved.
The wildlife sanctuary is also home to a variety of species Grey jungle fowl, spoonbills, Flamingos, peacocks, cormorants, grey pigeons, and golden orioles are a few examples of the feathered inhabitants of the sanctuary. Avian species in their natural habitat provide a wonderful opportunity for birdwatchers
Various plants and trees contribute to the flora of Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary. The rich botanical diversity includes Dhok, Churel, Salar, and Khair, some of the flora species found in the park. The fascinating world of plants can be found through the sanctuary trails and pathways

Jeep Safari
A safari in the Kumbhalgarh wildlife sanctuary begins at the Kumbhalgarh Fort. It passes through Ghanerao and borders an old abandoned road. It takes approximately 2 hours on a 10-kilometer safari in an open jeep. The unforgettable experience and thrilling adventure allow visitors to immerse themselves in the natural surroundings and encounter wildlife up close. Jungle safaris and horseback tours are highly recommended.
