How to get to the snow viewpoint

There are two ways to reach the snow viewpoint. Either take a cable car from Mall Road or opt for a trek. The cable car ride will take 3 minutes, passing through the majestic valley to reach the top.  It cost Rs 350 per person back and forth (price may fluctuate).  Alternatively, a 3 km trek from Mallital will take around an hour.

Things to do at snow viewpoint

Once you reach the top, you can enjoy many activities. Take a leisurely stroll around the area, watching scenic views of the Himalayas, and take some great photographs. hungry, If you are feeling hungry, hot tea or coffee can be a good option. Binoculars are available for rent for Rs 50; one can also enjoy a view of the Himalayas from a telescope for a nominal price of Rs 20. A dinosaur park can be a good option to visit with a child.

The best time to visit a snow viewpoint is between November and February when the snowfall is at its peak.

What to keep in mind when visiting Snow viewpoint

At the top, the weather can be unpredictable, so bring some warm clothes. Also, prepare for some waiting time as the cable car can be crowded.

road

By road: Nainital is connected by a network of well-maintained roads. If you’re coming from Delhi, you can take NH 9 and reach Nainital in around 7 hours. There are also buses and taxis available from major cities like Dehradun, Haridwar, and Lucknow.

train

By train: The nearest railway station to Nainital is Kathgodam, which is around 35 km away. Trains from major cities like Delhi, Kolkata, and Dehradun stop at Kathgodam. From the railway station, you can take a taxi or a bus to reach Nainital.

air

By air: The nearest airport to Nainital is the Pantnagar Airport, which is around 65 km away. Flights from major cities like Delhi and Mumbai connect to Pantnagar. From the airport, you can take a taxi or a bus to reach Nainital.
