Bagore Ki Haveli is an exquisite royal building that is located on Lake Pichola at Gangori Ghat, Ughatur. One of the top places to visit in the city, Bagore ki Haveli Haveli, is just 2 km away from the city palace and 3 km away from the city railway station.

Bagore ki Haveli, with over a hundred rooms, was constructed in the 18th century by Amir Chand Badwa, the Chief Minister of the Mewar Royal Court. In 1878 AD, three more stories were added by Maharana Shakti Singh of Bagore. Haveli showcases the finest craftsmanship of its time with intricate carving and glasswork.

Restoration and Transformation of Bagore ki Haveli

But after independence, Bagore ki Haveli faced neglect for 50 years. However, in the west zone, the cultural center took on the restoration, and finally, the restoration effort paid off. Today, it stands as a majestic testament to the rich architectural heritage of Udaipur

Architecture

The walls of the Bagore ki Haveli are adorned with intricate mirrorwork. Recreation rooms, living rooms, worship rooms, dressing rooms, and bedrooms in the private quarters of the royal ladies evoke a sense of grandeur and splendor. Bagore ki haveli also boasts corridors, a courtyard, and numerous balconies.

Museum

Bagore ki Haveli also houses a museum that has a collection of paintings and costumes that were once worn by the royal kings. Captivating modern art pieces, the mural paintings of Rajasthan portray the aristocratic culture of Mewar. Hand fans, traditional smoking pipes, jewelry boxes, and cooper vessels are other items that were once part of the erstwhile ruler. The Queen Chamber is filled with paintings of Mewar that visually narrate style, and the region’s artistic legacy. Depicting Mewari style, Chamber of the Ladies shows colored glass window mosaics of two peacocks.
