Overview and History
Owned by Rana Sriji Arvind Singh Mewar, the vintage and classic car collection is one of the top sightseeing attractions that you should visit in Udaipur. The remarkable museum house, which is just 1.5 km away from the Udaipur City Railway Station, is not only a paradise for vintage car enthusiasts, but it also has an impressive assortment of classic automobiles.
The museum has approximately 22 antique cars, including notable models such as the Ford-A Convertible, and four Rolls-Royces. 2 Cadillacs, an MG-TC convertible, Vauxhall-12, and other notable solar-powered rickshaws, and more. Despite passing seventy years, each vehicle is maintained and kept in excellent condition. Grand limousines and cars that once belonged to the house of Mewar are also showcased in collections.
The museum was inaugurated on February 15, 2000. It is located within the original former Mewar State Motor Garage, a historic building that adds to its charm. Adding a touch of nostalgia, there is an authentic Burma shell petrol pump in perfect working condition.
When planning your visit, keep in mind the museum’s timing. It is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., allowing ample time to explore the fascinating world of vintage automobiles. To gain entry to this automotive wonderland, there is an entry fee of Rs. 400.
