About Barkot
An important stopover en route to Yamunotri and Gangotri, Barkot is an important hill town situated in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarkhand.
At an elevation of 1220 m, the town is surrounded by Bandarpunch mountain range, through which the river Yamuna originates. Barkot town is situated on the banks of the Yamuna. It provides excellent water rafting opportunities for adventure lovers. Apple orchard in surroundings gives different landscapes to explore. Tourists visit town in large numbers while for the Char Dham Yatra.
At a distance of 50 km from Yamunotri and 61 km from Uttarkashi, Barkot is a hill town located on the banks of the Yamuna River in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. Situated at an elevation of 1220 m above sea level, Barkot is one of the popular places of tourism in Uttarakhand state.

The best time to visit is between the months of April and October, when there is no chance of monsoons and snowfall.
