The Bagini glacier trek offers an unparalleled view of the highest peaks in Uttarakhand.Kalanka, Hardeol, Rishi Pahar, Trisuli, Dunagiri, and Changabang are names of peaks that you get to see while trekking for 5-7 days during the trek.
Itinerary for Bagini Galcier
Day 1 Arrival at Joshimath
On day 1 arrive at the joshimath that is 275 km from Haridwar. It takes around 10-12 hours depending on speed and climate. There are multiple accommodation facilities available and you can take a rest for a day.
Day 2 Joshimath – Jumma – Ruing Village
The trek to Bagini glacier starts from the village Jumma which is at a distance of 45 km and also the last motorable village. After reaching Jummna, trek 3 km to reach Ruing Village.
Day 3 Ruing Village – Dronagiri Village (8 km)
On next day, start your trek from Dronagiri, which is the most revered spot mentioned in the epoch of the Ramayana. It is said that Lord Hanuman visited the place in search of Sanjeevani when he was unable to find the adjacent Dunagiri Parvat.
Day 4: Dronagiri Village-Bagini Glacier Base Camp via Langatoli (11 km)
The trail section here is a little intricate and you have to be careful while trekking. After Dronagiri village, a cemented bridge is made on Bagini stream, which you cross. After this, follow the trail on the right, which takes you to Langatoli, not the other trail, which goes to Kanari Khal. Once you reach Langatoli, you can camp there. It’s a beautiful campsite. The surrounding peaks of Trisuli, Hardeol, Rishi pahar and Satminal take all your tiredness.
The moraine ridges and boulder section constitute along the Bagini river and accompany you to Bagini Glacier base Camp, which is at 4480 m above sea level. You can camp at the Bagini Glacier base camp.
Day 5: Bagini Glacier Base Camp, Rishi Kund View Point, and Changabang Base Camp (3 km)
Start early from the Changabang base camp to catch the early sunrise. Continues trek on the upper ridges that lead to Bagini glacier base camp From here, you can see the upfront view of of Kalanka, Rishi Pahad, Hardeol and Changabang.
Day 6: Changabang Base Camp, Dronagiri Village
Trek: 13kms
Trek back towards Langatoli and further towards Dronagiri Village.
