About Thal Kedar Temple
Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Thal Kedar is a sacred temple located in the Pithoragarh town of Uttarakhand. In the soar valley of Eastern Kumaon, the temple is situated at 8300 feet high.
The temple is home to shivling, which is considered more than 1000 years old. Thousands of devotees all around the region come to pay respect.
According to a Himalayan geologist, the shivling is so old that it is equal in age to Mata Vashnoi Devi. Thal Kedar Temple is an important Hindu pilgrimage site whose construction is undertaken from time to time. Dhondu Pant, Nana Sahib, and Peshwa Baji Rao helped in the construction of the temple during its history.

The best time to visit the temple is during Maha Shiv Ratri or during the months from October to May due to the optimal temperature.
