The national research center on camels, also known as the government camel breeding farm, is located just 8 km away from Bikaner Junction.  It’s situated in the Jorbeer area of Bikaner, Rajasthan. It holds the distinction of being one of the largest camel breeding farms in Asia. History of National Research Center on Camels

It was established in 1984 by the Indian Council of Agriculture Research with the aim of conducting research and experiments on various camel breeds. The National Research Center on Camels serves as a dedicated facility for the breeding and training of camels. Various experiments are conducted to enhance their genetics, health, and overall well-being. 

Breeding of Camels

 The center houses around 400 camels, on which a wide range of activities related to camel breeding, research, and training take place. It aims to improve the camel population and ensure their vitality and adaptability to the desert environment. The national research center on camels plays a significant role in understanding the camel’s physiology, behavior, and contribution to the ecosystem. Several experts and trained professionals take care of camels under selective programs.

Timings and Entry Fee

The National Research Center on Camel welcomes visitors from 2 PM to 6 PM. To access the center, an entry fee of Rs. 50 is applicable for Indian nationals.
