Nestled at an elevation of 1,189 m, Khokhan is a picturesque village located in the Kullu Valley of Himachal Pradesh, India. The village is 10–13 km southwest of Kullu town and near Bhuntar and Shamshi.

Adi Brahma Temple
A rare wooden pagoda-style temple dedicated to Lord Brahma, dating between the 10th and 14th centuries. The temple features a four-tier pyramidal roof and elaborate carvings and houses the deity’s mohra and palanquin in a treasury. It’s open only on ceremonial occasions.
Adi Brahma is considered a sibling of nearby deities like Jwala Mata (Shamshi) and Naina Mata (Bhullang).
Khokhan Wildlife Sanctuary
Spread over an area of 14.2 square kilometers, Khokhan Wildlife Sanctuary was established in 1954. Home to rich biodiversity, the wildlife ranges from 1,500 to 2,800 m. You will find Himalayan black bears, tahr, musk deer, blue sheep, barking deer, leopards, and many birds, including monals and pheasants.

By Air: The closest is Bhuntar Airport (~8–10 km). Taxis or buses connect to Khokhan.
By Road: Well-served by public and private buses from Kullu, Shimla, Chandigarh, and Delhi. Frequent shared taxis are also available.
By Train: Nearest station at Joginder Nagar (~100–120 km away). Travelers then take a bus or taxi to Kullu/Bhuntar.
