About Sajla waterfall
Sajla waterfall is a beautiful, unexplored place located within Sajla village. On the left bank of the Beas River, along Naggar Road, also known as the old Kullu Manali Highway, are not as many waterfalls like Jogini Falls.
Maybe a blessing in disguise, because in India, the beauty of a place decreases with increase in popularity. Visitors often show carelessness for things that God has gifted us freely. For the time being, leave it and focus on the subject of the article, the Sajla waterfall.
Sajla village
Sajla village is a typical himalayan village consisting of 30–40 houses. Most of the houses are traditional Kath-Kuni style, which is famous for no use of mortar but alternate layers of stone masonry and wood used for construction.
Trek to Sajla waterfall
Sajla waterfall is situated in Saijala village, which is approximately halfway between Kullu and Manali. You can opt for local Kullu-Manali buses that pass via Naggar. After reaching the village, walk 500m from the main road toward Vishnu temple. The temple is a major attraction in the village. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, it is carved with carvings of Shiva-Parvati, Ganesha, and Krishna-Radha.The trail to the waterfall is well marked, so there is no way you can forget the trail. Deodar and pine trees offer picturesque views of the nearby mountain peaks. The total distance of the trek is 1.4 km from one side. Once you reach the waterfall, you can do multiple activities like trekking, hiking, and swimming in the pool near the waterfall.
Best time
The best time to visit the temple is during the festival of Fagli. It offers an excellent opportunity to experience the culture and rituals of the locals. In temple compounds, there are three tall sacred poles believed to be arrows struck by gods during a battle between gods and demons. You can see how mythological stories are associated with the place.
