History of Trevor’s Tank

Trevor Tank was constructed in 1897 AD as an artificial lake by Trevor, who got the land as a gift from his friend Maharao Kesari Singhji Bahadur of Sirohi. He was the ruler of the Rajputana state at that time. At the same time, the area was transformed into a small wildlife sanctuary, which eventually became one of the most prominent attractions on Mount Abu.

In their natural habitat, today’s Trevor Tank serves as a crocodile breeding spot in Mount Abu. Contributing to conservation efforts, authorities have run conservation programs to preserve these reptiles. It’s a thrill to encounter a crocodile up close while visiting such a place.
