Cuttack was once the capital of the state is fondly known as the “Silver City” of Odisha. Located at the confluence of the Mahanadi and Kathajodi rivers it is one of the oldest cities in eastern india and a major centre of history, trade and culture.

Famous for its exquisite silver filigree work (Tarakasi), magnificent Durga Puja celebrations, and historic landmarks, Cuttack offers blend of heritage, spirituality, and urban charm.

Geography and Climate

Cuttack lies in the coastal plains of Odisha, about 30 km from Bhubaneswar, forming part of the twin cities of Bhubaneswar–Cuttack. The city is surrounded by rivers, making it naturally beautiful and agriculturally fertile.

Summer (March–June): Warm and humid, with temperatures between 25°C and 38°C.

Monsoon (July–September): Heavy rainfall, enriching the greenery.

Barabati Fort

Netaji Birthplace Museum
