The Eachanari Vinayagar Temple is one of the most famous and revered temples dedicated to Lord Ganesha in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Known for its spiritual significance and serene atmosphere, the temple is a must-visit for devotees and tourists alike.
Historical Background
Once during the transportation of the idol of Lord Ganesha, the cart that was bringing it broke down at Eachanari. Devotees believed this to be divine intervention and installed the idol at the spot. This is how the Eachanari Vinayagar Temple came into existence. It’s believed that the temple was constructed back in the 16th century.
The Idol
Inspiring and massive, the idol of Lord Ganesha measured about 6 feet in height and 3 feet in width. The deity is lovingly referred to as “Vinayagar,” a Tamil name for Ganesha. It is one of the largest Ganesha idols in Tamil Nadu, known for its intricate carvings and divine aura.

Festivals and Celebrations
