The idol is mounted on a massive 48-foot pedestal, bringing the total height to an astonishing 109 feet. This makes it one of the tallest statues of Parshvanatha in India. Weighing approximately 185 tons, the statue dominates the skyline and can be seen from a considerable distance. The sight of the towering figure against the open Karnataka landscape leaves a lasting impression on visitors.
The Unique Navagraha Concept
What sets Navagraha Teertha apart from other Jain temples is its distinctive Navagraha theme. In Indian tradition, the Navagrahas represent the nine celestial bodies that are believed to influence human life. The temple creatively integrates this concept with Jain philosophy.
Each of the nine planets is associated with a Jain Tirthankara, and devotees worship these Tirthankaras to seek relief from planetary afflictions, commonly known as Graha Doshas. The statues are placed on specially designed structures representing the planets, creating a fascinating blend of astronomy, symbolism, and spirituality.
This unique arrangement makes Navagraha Teertha one of the few temples in India where celestial symbolism is incorporated so prominently into Jain worship.

The months from October to March are generally considered the best time to visit, as the weather remains pleasant and suitable for sightseeing. Early mornings and evenings offer the most peaceful experience.
