History of Dubare Elephant Camp
Originally a training camp for elephants, the erstwhile rulers of Mysore trained their elephants. They consider elephants to be an integral part of their royal army.
Dubhare Elephant has now transformed into a unique eco-tourism destination. It has now evolved into a conservation and rehabilitation initiative. During the Mysore Dussehra festival, the tradition of capturing and training elephants displays the camp’s history.
Dubare Forest
The camp is a symphony of flora and fauna that is surrounded by the lush Dubare forest. A perfect habitat for elephants in the neutral habitat of deciduous and bamboo thickets provides an immense experience to the visitors.
