About Kadamba Dyansty
Kadamba is the first native dynasty in ancient South India from the 4th to the 6th centuries that ruled present-day Karnataka. It emerged after the Satavahans and Pallavas, the outside powers ruled, had ended or shifted to the other region. The density was founded by Mayurasharma (also known as Mayuravarma), who earlier was a Brahmin who later took his arm after an incident with Pallava rulers. He established the Kadamba Kingom with its capital at Banavasi.
The inscription and literature give evidence about the Banvasi as a prominent centre of culture, trade, and religion.
