Foy Sagar Lake is a picturesque waterbody that offers a peaceful retreat for tourists and locals alike. Nestled to the west of Ajmer, Foy Sagar Lake is located at a distance of 6 km from Ajmer Dargah Sharif and 7 km from Ajmer Junction Railway Station. 

A Famine Relief Project with Historical Significance

Foy Sagar Lake owes its name to the English architect, Mr. Foy, who designed and constructed it in 1892. It was constructed during a severe drought and famine relief project in Ajmer, Rajasthan. During the time of drought, Foy sagar Lake has  alleviated the water scarcity issues faced by the region. 

Spread over an area of 14,000,000 square feet, Foy Sagar Lake has a storage capacity of 15 million cubic feet of water. With a breathtaking backdrop of the majestic Aravali range, Lake looks like a flat-shaped pancake that allures visitors with its majestic beauty. 

The lake is surrounded by a spacious park that is lush with greenery. A favorite spot for locals and tourists creates a serene and inviting atmosphere. It provides a break from the bustle and hustle of city life.

The lake is open to visitors from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
