About Demul Village
If you are looking for some time, then Demul village, tucked away in the valley of Spiti, is a perfect option to consider. A remote settlement is home to only 55 households.
As a part of community tourism, one cannot stay more than 1 day in the same home. To ensure an equitable share of tourism revenue, every homestay gets a chance to accommodate visitors.
Best time to visit
Demul receives heavy snowfall in the months of winter, so avoid visiting. The months from June to September are a window of opportunity when you burst with different colors apart from white.
Balari top
At a height of 4953 m, the famous attraction point of Demul offers a breathtaking view of the surroundings. The confluence of the Spit, Lingti, and Pin Rivers in the background of the naked mountains gives a mesmerizing view.
How to reach Demul Village
There are two ways to reach Demul: either from the side of Kaza or Komic village. From Kaza, the well tarred road follows the Spiti River and moves uphill to a stretch of 20 km to Demul. The other road is a dirt track that begins in Komic village.
If you don’t want to shell out a large amount of money, then opt for public transportation. Daily in the months of summer, the bus runs from Kaza to Demul at 5:00 pm and comes back at 7:30 am on the same day.
