About Kudlu Teertha Falls
Offering a picturesque retreat, Kudlu Teertha Falls, also known as Sita Fall, is situated deep in the western Ghats jungles near Hebri. One of Karnataka’s most pristine waterfalls , the waterfall is on Udupi-Agumbe Road, about 30 km from Agumbe.
Falling from a height of 300 feet, the Kudu Theertha Falls is a waterfall that falls on the river Sita. Considered holy by locals, it has been believed that sages meditated in this area thousands of years ago. Visitors can enjoy the falling water for refreshing water; however, it’s advised not to go in the monsoon season.
Trek To Kudlu Teertha Falls
The trek to Kudlu Theertha Falls promises a rewarding adventure amid nature’s splendor.Surrounded by a serene atmosphere, Kudlu Theertha Falls is renowned for its isolated beauty, accessible through a trek of about 4 km through dense forests. Trekkers must cross the River Sita using a bridge and navigate challenging terrain. While the trek is long and demanding, the captivating view of the waterfall revitalizes trekkers.
Tips
There are no nearby shops. It’s advisable to carry snacks and water, given its remote location. The forest area may have leeches, especially during the monsoon, so precautions like applying lime or salt are recommended.
The best time to visit
The best time to visit the waterfall is during the months between August and December, when the water flows at its peak. Entry costs Rs. 50 per person
Timing
Entry for visitors is allowed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
