About VITM
The Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum (VITM) is one of India’s finest science museums and among the most popular educational attractions in Bangalore. Located on the bustling Kasturba Road, right opposite Cubbon Park, the museum lies about 5 km from Bangalore City Railway Station and is easily accessible from all parts of the city.
Established in 1962 and inaugurated by India’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the museum was built in honor of Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya, one of India’s greatest engineers and visionaries. Spread across nearly 4,000 square meters, VITM functions under the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
