The place where the temple is located is considered the holy place where Lord Rama, along with Sita and Lakshmana, appeared as Parashuramn.
Architecture of Kodanda Rama Temple
The temple core architecture reflects the Hoysala style. Subsequently, during the Vijayanagara period, different rulers made contributions to the temple’s expansion. The most notable are the navagrahas in the 14th century and the mukhamantapa in the 16th century.
