About Devkund Waterfall
Devkund Waterfall is a hidden gem that is nestled deep in the forests near Bhira in Raigad district. It’s a rare confluence of three waterfalls that makes a Devkund waterfall.
The breathtaking waterfalls near Pune are a must-visit for nature lovers, trekkers, and adventure enthusiasts. Located 110 km from Pune, the waterfall offers a mesmerising experience away from the city’s hustle.
The Beauty and Significance of Devkund
A major source for the Kundalika River, the waterfall cascades from a height of over 100 feet into a 30-meter-wide pool. The sight is nothing short of spectacular. At the base of the waterfall, the pond is formed which is deep and visitors should follow safety guidelines when doing any activities there.
Additionally, the Bhira Dam nearby houses a hydroelectric power plant operated by Tata Power, adding to the location’s importance. Though the place was relatively unexplored until a few years ago, it has gained immense popularity among trekkers and adventure seekers.

Trekking to Devkund Waterfall
The trek to the waterfall begins from Bhira village. On a well-marked trail of 5 km, the trek passes through semi-dense forests and the river’s course. It takes approximately 1 to 2 hours where hikers encounter small streams, river crossings, rocky patches, and scenic landscapes in the trek.
Safety & Swimming Restrictions
Visitors are advised to do swimming only in the designated safe zone. Access beyond a certain point is restricted by local authorities because depth can reach up to 60 feet.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit the waterfall is from October to mid-November, when the monsoon recedes and the waterfall is in full flow. Avoid visiting in the monsoon season from July to September to flooding from the Bhira Dam backwaters.

By Air: The closest airport is Pune International Airport.
