Chandigarh, the beautiful city located on the Shivalik range’s foothills, was designed by talented French-Swiss architect Le Corbusier. Beautifully crafted sectors, where each sector has its own shopping complex, park, and open spaces, give a unique experience to the visitor.
The rose garden, in Sector 16 of Chandigarh, showcases a variety of 825 followers and 32,500 varieties of trees and medicinal shrubs. Named after the former Indian president, Zakir Hussain, it was established in 1967. Ms. Randhawa, the first chief commissioner, who was a renowned artist, historian, and botanist, helped in the establishment of the park.
Arranged in a systematic way, parks offer the perfect stroll and relaxation to visitors. The Chandigarh Municipal Corporation organizes the Teej festival during the months of February and March when the flowers are in full bloom.
Spread over an area of 30 acres, park fountains and long stretches of green grass make the place perfect for those who are jogging and exercising.
